Appearing in PTJ this month is an article titled "Plantar Stresses on the Neuropathic Foot During Barefoot Walking," coauthored by Michael J Mueller, PT, PhD, FAPTA, Dequan Zou, DSc, Kathryn Bohnert, MS, CDT, Lori Tuttle, PT, and David R Sinacore, PT, PhD, FAPTA.

The project builds on the findings of studies that Mueller conducted, with funding from Promotion of Doctoral Studies (PODS) scholarships in 1987 and 1991, on the prevention of skin breakdown in people with diabetes and peripheral neuropathy. The current study received funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research to Mueller and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases to Sinacore.
